Hints of a Horned Hooter - Pt Reyes 4/16/24

After a long day of Bobcats, Weasels, Otters, and a host of other critters, we headed over to where we had seen a Badger earlier. While waiting to see if the Badger would pop up out of his hole, I looked out over the lagoon with the sun setting behind. Something caught my eye and I realized there was a Great Horned Owl perched at the top of one of the trees. I was initially going to try and compensate for the backlight, but then decided I wanted to capture it exactly how I saw it. I really liked how you could tell what it was without really being able to see it, and I loved the glow of light in its ears.
