Hooded Merganser 11/5/23
This is the first time I’ve seen one at this pond (end of the levee near Mori Pt). I almost walked right past her, thinking she was one of the regular waterfowl that frequent the pond. But then I took a closer look and realized it was a Merganser. She did a little showing-off for the camera, and then proceeded to display her hunting prowess by catching and devouring a crayfish. She saved the head as the final delicacy.
