Morning with a Humpback 8/15/24
The morning started off cloudy, foggy and cool. I saw a couple whales near the pier but they were pretty passive and then disappeared fairly quickly. I headed up to Esplanade and looked for a while but nothing. I was going to head home but decided to make a stop at Rockaway. As soon as I pulled in, one lunged right in front of me. I grabbed the camera and got out just in time to catch his second lunge. He lunged one more time, but I was busy updating Pacifica Whalespotting and missed it. He headed out to sea after that. Oh well, at least I got one shot.
