Bald Eagle Fledglings NE PA 7/11/24

I’m back in Northeast Pennsylvania. I haven’t had much of a chance to take photos on my trip, but I did get a 2 hour window I could go see what I could find. I went down to Lily Lake to see what critters were around. I wasn’t there very long before I heard the familiar shriek of a Bald Eagle, but a bit higher pitched and more “insistent” than I typically hear. I guessed it might be some juveniles so I tried to figure out where the sound was coming from. I finally narrowed it down and got my lens pointed that direction and discovered a Bald Eagle nest with two young ones. While I’m not an expert on determining the age of eagles, after watching them for a while it seemed to me like they probably were fledglings and just learning to fly. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to stay there very long, and the light was quickly dwindling, but I did manage to get a few shots of them.
