Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron 4/28/23 Mori Pt. (3 photos) Yesterday was the first time in almost 6 months I've been able to go out and take a nature/photo walk. It was nice seeing lots of "friends" on my walk. Lots of Red-winged Blackbirds, Song Sparrows, Pelicans, Phoebes, California Thrashers, some Canada Geese and their goslings, Mallards, I mostly heard (and briefly saw, but couldn't photo) some Marsh Wrens, and a handful of others. Then this Blue Heron surprised me - I caught him out of the corner of my eye as he was coming in for a landing. I just barely got the lens on him and focused. I wasn't really expecting the photos to come out very well because I was out at noon and the warm air from the land was mixing with a strong ocean breeze causing lots of thermal distortions. They're not quite as crisp as I'd like, but quite a bit better than I was expecting.
