Humpback Whales 7/2/23

The general whale activity has dropped over the past few weeks. However there still have been fairly regular sightings. I’ve been seeing at least 1-2 every few days, though I haven’t been able to go out and photograph them until today. Today there was a pair of Humpbacks which I first sighted at the south end of Beach Blvd. They headed north right past the pier, quite close and continued up to Esplanade where they were lunge feeding for a little while. I only managed a few shots near the pier, where they weren’t very active, but I did get a few tail shots.
