Painted Turtle - NE PA 7/28/24
During my breaks from watching mom, I often like to grab my camera and go for a walk behind the facility. I’ve seen these turtles several times on my walks, but they are some of the most skittish turtles I’ve seen. I usually stay at least 40 feet away, I’m mostly obscured by the vegetation and I try to be as quiet and unobtrusive as possible. But usually within just a few seconds of taking photos they dive down into the water. These are some of the shots I was able to get before they disappeared.
