Sharp-shinned Hawk 1/28/24

This is the first time I’ve seen a Sharp-shinned at Mori Pt. I know they’re around, and I’ve even seen one in my yard, which isn’t very far from Mori. Since I often see Cooper’s Hawks right where I saw this one (and in fact I have a nice set of an immature Cooper’s from yesterday at this exact spot which I’ll be posting at some point), and it can often be difficult to tell these two apart, I double-checked with the ABA’s Facebook group and they confirmed the Sharp-shinned ID. One commenter referred to the last photo as the Barney Fife look, and now every time I look at that photo it makes me chuckle a little.
