Frenetic Fast Flyers 12/20/24
Earlier I posted some photos of big waves, so now it’s time to go small. The cats really wanted to go out on the porch to watch the birdies. They’re not allowed out without supervision, and I’ve been pretty busy so they’ve been getting increasingly agitated. I’ve been wanting to get a few shots of the Yellow-rumped Warblers (or “Butter Butts” as some like to call them) which have been frequenting our yard for the past week. So I decided we should all go out and watch the birdies. The warblers really don’t like sitting still and zip all over the place. I managed to get a few shots in the fleeting moments they were still. I was tempted to try and get some flight shots, but the light was low and they were in the shade, so I stuck with the old standard BOAS shots (bird on a stick). Amongst the flitting warblers an Anna’s Hummingbird showed up and exhibited a similar distaste for sitting still. They were all fun to shoot, and the kitties were thankful for some time outside.
