Red-tailed Hawk 12/17/24

This is the Red-tailed Hawk I referred to in last night’s sunset post. I was in my office lamenting the fact I couldn’t go out for a walk when this beauty alighted on the light pole outside my window. I grabbed my camera and went up to the roof to snap some shots. As you’ll see in photo2, a Raven was none-too-pleased the hawk was perched on his light pole and did a few flybys. The hawk hung in there for a while, watching as the Raven flew around (photo3), fluffed up his feathers a bit (photo4) and then took off. Normally I don’t like shots of birds flying away, but in this case I made an exception because the low sun really lit up his feathers and provided a beautiful display.
